You need to eat more sweets like dried figs, raisins, avocados and cured olives (not in cans but like the facy ones in the displays).
First it is not totally your fault that you are overweight since our society’s way of eating, that is making people fat, is a pandemic (epidemic) that is getting worse. Atlantic Monthly magazine says that it has just become the #1 health problem in the world replacing hunger and infectious disease.
So you need to take the time to read everything on the site below under “exercise” and “diet” to re-learn everything over again. Do this and you can become thin. Do this not and you will still have what you have now.
You will learn about fastest ways to lose weight (enemas and fasting), how to flatten your belly before an event (losing 5 to 20 pounds) and slower ways to lose bodyfat, retained water and a 3rd thing. Pick what is most appropriate for you.
These things helpe me a lot:
1. Get involved in your cooking. Buy a special cookbook with foods light in calories but big on taste and cook the recipes. Studies have shown that those who are involved in their weight loss cooking are more likely to stay motivated.
2. Whenever you get the munchies but aren’t hungry, pop a piece of gum in your mouth. Trident sugarless gum has only 5 calories but will last for at least 30 minutes.
3. Don’t cut out junk food entirely; it’ll only make you want it even more. Make substitutions instead. Instead of high-fat potato chips, eat fat-free Pringles (only 70 calories for 15 crisps); instead of ice-cream, eat low-fat frozen yogurt (190 calories or higher versus 110 calories or lower). Try sugarless foods; I never notice the difference. Candy isn’t great for the diet, but if you’re craving chocolate, break out the sugarless bars. (Find them at the health store or in your local market.)
4. Keep a list of heart healthy snacks on the fridge.
5. Get into fruit: it’s sugary and sweet. Before I became health-conscious, I never even considered fruit as a tasty snack. But once I caught on, I realized that fruit is just as tasty as high-sugar foods. I like peaches and pineapples.
Good luck!
People are funny animals. Tell us we can’t have something and immediately, that’s what we want more than anything else in the world.
The trouble with too many diets is they mostly deny us things. You can’t eat this, you can’t have that, you can’t enjoy the other. But really, unless you are allergic to something, there is no reason why you have to completely exclude things from your diet. Including junk food.
The secret is to give yourself little treats from time to time. Then you won’t want to chuck the whole diet. Just don’t eat the amounts of junk food you used to.
Do you have any idea how long it can take to nibble your way through ten potato chips? Especially when you really savour the crunch and take the time to let the salty taste linger on your tongue, instead of just gorfing them down.
Chocolate bars are great. You can cut your favorite in quarters, then slice one quarter into thin little wafers and freeze the other three quarters to have on three other occasions. Again, really taste that little wafer of chocolate. Let it melt in your mouth and dribble down your throat, carrying its little load of sweetness all the way.
That’s the way you’re going to think about junk food from now on. Not as ‘junk’ to be consumed mindlessly, by the boxful, but as ‘treat’ food, something very special, that you have on special occasions and enjoy fully. After all, you wouldn’t have champagne every night, would you?
Anyway, that’s my secret for sticking to a diet, and I hope it works for you.
Think about all the sugars, cholesterol and bad things ( additives, colorants….and so on)in junk food…then imagine how all the cholesterol is sticking to your arteries and veins ..slowly but surely starting to ’strangle ‘ them…Think about your health and happiness.
A diet is not a diet it’s a way of living ….buying and eating healthy foods is an investment in your health.
Besides no one tells you not to eat junk ever….just as rarely as possible. I guarantee you that by the time you’ll be done with your diet the foods would not vanish from the stores/restaurants. Indulge after you created a healthy happy place for your body.
One more thing a diet can be fun you just need to find healthy things and then go creative…eat all the fish and chicken you can and all the veggies and fruits in the world….just try broiling, boiling and baking for a little while. Ask me if you want for some recipes.
Mom once told me that we don’t live to eat we eat to live…i agree.
get rid of the junk food in your house. And stay away from mcdonalds, etc.
include junk food. Make your life easier. Instead of ruling out all junk food, take out the categories that you eat because they are there, not because you can’t live without it. Good categories are alcohol, soda, chips, cookies, cake, ice cream. There are always exceptions on when your going to want these things, like if you randomly want ice cream, eat it, don’t try to cover it up by eating something else. I generally relax it a bit for special occasions, just so i don’t appear rude to someone who has gone to the trouble of making dinner for you for the first time or something like that. Good Luck
The best thing I ever did to lose weight was to just eat when I was hungry. I eat whatever I want, ice cream, chocolate but only when I am hungry. The hardest part though is to stop when you are full. I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off for 3 years. I also think another key is to eat when you are hungry. Letting yourself go hungry slows down your metabolism, so I keep snacks at work and in the car.
well 4 me id set up my diet plans like food that im going to eat. But try your best not to eat after 6 oclock
