I’ve been having a lot of stomach pains for about 3 years now and I never noticed a pattern in it. Well I’ve finally found it. After I eat or drink a dairy product my stomach hurts. But I’m also a vegetarian. What are some foods I can eat and some diets to lose and keep the weight off?

Which diets work best after giving birth?
Filed Under Pregnancy | 5 Comments
I want to lose the baby weight while I’m breastfeeding. I’m hoping that my body will use my stored fat to make milk. From experience, which diets work best for this? I want my milk to be good for the baby, so I can’t go on any diets that cut out food groups completely.
Any books or websites with the diet plans on them would be helpful
I’m trying to read up before I give birth!

Can a hamster have sugar in their diets?
Filed Under Other - Pets | 1 Comment
To be more specific, in some diets in certain brand food they include sugar in the ingredients. Does anyone know how this affects hamsters?
I’ve done my google searching, and to my surprise I didn’t find much information. The specific brand is Hutch Klub Food - Hamster & Gerbil- 2 lb. They didn’t specify how much sugar is in the mix.

What are some popular diets that one would be able to write a compare-contrast paper about?
Filed Under Diet & Fitness | 9 Comments
I need to write a compare-contrast paper on two popular diets– I was wanting do use Weight Watchers as one, but I can’t decide on the second one.
I want to choose something that is very strict with the food– like nutrysystem or jenny craig.
what are some other “interesting” diets?
well, i wanted to do weight watchers becasue you can still eat whatever you want, but you’re watching calories, fat and fiber to create points….
jenny craig food is loaded with salt and so restrictive….
when i went on weight watchers after i had my baby, my diet consisted of coke, twinkies, water and cereal, and i still lost 3 lbs in a week……
the key is moderation!!!!!

What is the one thing that all diets that work have in common?
Filed Under Diet & Fitness | 7 Comments
No matter how you slice it - the one thing that all diets have that work - everything from Atkins to South Beach — is calorie reduction. All these “diets” are just tricks to get you to eat less. Sure, the Atkins has a metabolic effect by lowering carb intake, but everyone I know who has tried Atkins has ALSO reduced their calories (even if they didn’t do it consciously). They find themselves ordering the steak dinner at a restaurant and discarding the baked potato. Well, that jumbo backed potato has several hundred calories. If you eat your steak, green vegetable, and a soup, but skipped the potato - what have you done? Reduced calories!
With all these juice diets and soup diets — weight watchers — and all the rest — add them up! People doing these things are eating less!
People! Eat less and eat right! That’s the way to do it. Don’t do Atkins or juice diets. Don’t starve yourself. Take in 500 calories a day less than you burn, and you WILL lose weight.

Diets don’t work. I have tried almost every diet. Even laxatives. I stay on a diet for a while and lose weight but then it gets old and I start with the old habits again. At times I eat out of emotions. Any suggestions?

Why do most diets seem to want you to avoid caffeine? Is it fattening?
Filed Under Diet & Fitness | 7 Comments
I’m just curious as to why most of the diets that I have been on in my life have wanted me to avoid caffeine. When I was on the Atkin’s diet some years back it advocated avoiding caffeine. Now that I am trying out the “raw foods” diet, the guidlines to it advocate avoiding caffeine as well. Why is this? Is caffeine fattening? I can find no information to tell me that it is for a fact fattening available online, so I’m turning to you people for an answer. Thanks for the info!
